Invasive Species Removal with the Emerald Necklace
As a follow-up to the May 29 Invasive Species workshop, this is the forest ecology and invasive plant removal field day.
The Emerald Necklace Conservancy will offer a short training in the history of the Emerald Necklace, invasive plant identification and removal techniques, safety concerns, and group management. Volunteers will help implement a comprehensive woodlands management program and promote a healthier forest through activities ranging from removing invasive plant species to picking up trash and conditioning forest soil.
This field day is the first step towards a leadership role with the Emerald Necklace, for those interested! After attending a series of events like this, you will be equipped to lead small groups of volunteers at other events throughout the year.
