Interested in Becoming an Intern at New England Aquarium?
Applications are accepted for four cycles (Spring, Summer, Fall, and January Term), subject to position availability. Prior to applying, please review the application dates for each cycle, as well as position availability, which can be found by clicking on individual position descriptions under the Intern/Extern tab.
To submit an application, please click on the position of interest; at the bottom, there will be a link to apply. You may apply to up to three positions, so please thoroughly explore your options prior to completing an application in order to ensure appropriate eligibility and availability.
If selected, we will contact you to set up an in-person interview with the Volunteer Programs and Internships Office. Second round interviews will be determined following initial interviews and will be led by department supervisors.
Due to the high volume of applications, it may take up to three/four weeks for us to respond to inquiries. We appreciate your patience in waiting for our response!
Important Things to Know:
Most positions require a consistent commitment of three to four days per week for 12-16 weeks, depending on departmental need.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
While our internships are primarily designed for University level individuals, non-student applicants with relative experience and passion are welcome to apply. Unfortunately, we are generally unable to accept high school applicants.
Applicants are required to submit a resume, cover letter, and unofficial school transcript. Letters of recommendation are not required, but may be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that we are unable to provide status updates over the phone.
