Salt marsh invasive species removal workshop
Mass Audubon, the Department of Conservation and Recreation, Emerald Necklace Conservancy, and the New England Aquarium invite you to spend a day learning about the importance of coastal wetlands, specifically salt marshes, and understanding how invasive species can affect their productivity. After the classroom session, we will go to Rumney Marsh Resevation to remove the invasive perennial pepperweed (Lepidium latifolium) and other restoration work on the marsh.
This training will enable you to sign up for consecutive invasive species removal days in May and June.
9 AM - 10:30 AM - Classroom portion, Harborside Learning Lab, New England Aquarium
11:30 AM - 3 PM - Field application, Rumney Marsh Reservation, Saugus, MA
Please come prepared with the following:
- Reusable water bottle
- Lunch
- Muck boots/field shoes you don't mind getting muddy
- Sunscreen
