Avian Collision Team- Volunteer Training
Window collisions are a surprisingly significant source of bird mortality in the US, causing up to 100 million casualties annually. While programs exist in most major cities to study and mitigate this problem, its scale in Boston is largely unknown. That's why we're seeking volunteers to help monitor bird-window collisions in downtown Boston. Complete the one day training to be eligible to sign up to volunteer in the morning to complete transects and collect data for the Avian Collision Team Boston.
LBSC Volunteers trained to be a part of the Avian Collision Team will be expected to complete at least 1, ~1.5 hour long transect days, which will be offered on Sunday mornings during the Spring Season from April 11-June 2.
**As of 3/12/2020- All Avian Collision Team Trainings will be hosted virtually via Zoom. A link with log in information will be provided prior to the event.**
