World Oceans Day Festival
World Ocean Day is a celebration of the ocean and a reminder of the vital role it plays in our daily lives. During our 2023 celebration, we will once again be highlighting the global conservation initiative to protect 30% of lands, water and ocean by the year 2030. Our unique spin on this theme and our internal messaging thread will be “Local action leads to global impact!” We are also excited to be expanding our offerings, and to include partners and community members that help us protect our ocean.
We are looking for some additional helpers to support a variety of programming happening from 10am-4pm that day. All positions will be on the aquarium plaza or in the Harbor View Terrace tent. If you are interested in helping with activities that day, please sign up by indicating your preferred activity below!
- WOD Scavenger Hunt Activity Station- activity dissemination and support
- A Balanced MPA- helping guests play an educational jenga-style game
- MPA Advocacy Recording Booth- support staff in filming participants
- VP&I Engagement Station- supporting VP&I encouraging interested future ocean stewards to become a member of our community
- Any of these sound great!
